Why a Gunite Pool?

Gunite has the distinct advantage of being the most creative material for building pools. After all, it’s blown sand & cement and can be molded and “shot” into whatever shape you imagine. The giant water parks around the United States and the world are all constructed with concrete. Concrete is the material of swimming pool dreams.

Gunite pools are constructed over a framework of rebar that is sprayed over with gunite.  Lasting many years the tile and plaster surfaces may still need to be revitalized every 15 or so years but if  built correctly the structure or vessel should last a lifetime.  With many choices for finishes we are not limited to “plaster” but now have pebble or even “glass” finishes that will last a very long time and not break down like the rough plaster finishes we grew up with.
